Jayne Berrier (1935 - 2026) wa an amazing woman in many ways. Born in Jacksonville Floriday, she left in 1953 with twofriends and began an icredible life journy. Dance instructor, music enthusiast, real estate agent, fashion model, jet-setter, belly dancer, Macy's salesgirl, jet-setter, college and grad school student, medical researcher, art collector, secret shopper, yoga and Qi-gong practitioner, and my mother. In the traditions of wakes and sitting shiva, this gathering is casual, pot-luck of food and drink welcome, and open to all, from 1 PM - 9 PM. (Early-comers and late-leavers wil be accomodated on a case-by-case basis)
Whether or not you knew her personally, if you knew me, followed fashion in the 1950s and 60s, or the AIDS epidemic impacted you, you probably experienced some of her influence. You are welcome to come and mingle with others who knew her and know me, enjoy good company, share (or just listen) to stories about Jayne and her life, and view some of her art, antique, and book collection.
The event will be in the apartment in which she lived for the past 18 years at the Parc Vendome near Columbis Circle. IT must be vacated by July, and many of the things in it will be sold off, so it is the last time the things that defined her life will be together in one place.
