Gather is an intimate portrait of the growing movement amongst Native Americans to reclaim their spiritual, political, and cultural identities through food sovereignty while battling the trauma of centuries of genocide. Film will be followed by a simple community meal and a post film discussion led by local musician, artist, educator, and Indigenous healer, Shayna Hobbs. This is part of a two-day Indigenous weekend, so stay tuned for information on our Indigenous Singers in the Round at Darkhorse Theater on October 13.This screening and discussion is made possible with partial funding from Humanities Tennessee, an independent affiliate of National Endowment for the Humanities.
