💙 Mini library launch (yes! We are setting up a mini diverse library for cafe visitors!)
💙 My dear friend and big sis Benedict Tan will provide resource materials for the LGBTQIA2S+ communities and can share their newly acquired life coach skills.
💙 Come hang with my multi-talented friend, Nikki Sandoval , who's my ultimate inspiration forJUSTICE & JOY, not only as a beautiful, passionate human, but also through her work as Nikki Brown Clown and at PDX Storybook Garden ! Come learn about her literacy advocacy, foster care experience or community garden!
💙 Frances Pai is our amazing writer, judge, mother AND founder of Qilin Press, a nonprofit press that published A Tree of My Own by Nui Wilson, a picture book that explores challenges that Karen refugees face in preserving their culture, especially with displacement and resettlement. (The Karen community consists of refugees from Myanmar and Thailand. There are approximately 500 Karen refugees in Portland OR).
💙📚👜 Frances will have copies of the book and beautifully handwoven bookbags available for sale. All profits will provide educational and training opportunities for the Karen community!
💙🧧 Since Lunar New Year starts on January 29th this year, we will be giving out free LNY treats and red envelopes too!
