Gatewood Elementary Kindergarten for Families

Hopkins’ Kindergarten for Families is a great opportunity to learn about strategies to prepare for your child’s kindergarten experience. During the discussion, incoming kindergarteners will have the opportunity to play with other children and possibly explore a kindergarten classroom.

Registration is required and space is limited. This event is for families who have a child enrolled in kindergarten at Gatewood Elementary for the 2025-26 school year.

Info: Drop off your incoming kindergartener in one of our preschool classrooms. Adults and siblings will be directed to the family discussion location.

Info: Join us for a brief discussion with your school's principal about Gatewood's school routine. Early Childhood staff will offer kindergarten readiness strategies and activities that you can do together over the summer to prepare for the first day of school. Please note: siblings will remain with families during the discussion.

Info: During the family discussion, your incoming kindergartener will participate in fun activities in the preschool classroom.
