Exploring creative ways to engage young people aged 11-25 with heritage. Bringing creative, youth and heritage organisations together.
About this Event

Building on the success of Gateways Into Heritage 2024, the youth engagement team at English Heritage are delighted to invite you once again to join us for a packed day of fascinating talks, workshops, screenings and performances.

Held at the Yorkshire Museum in the beautiful York Museum Gardens, we'll be kicking off the day with a short introduction followed by talks from Aardman Academy, Photoworks and the Council for British Archaology on creative projects that have successfully engaged young people in heritage.

We'll also enjoy some fantastic films and live performances from young people involved with the National Youth Ballet, The Spit Game and We Make Culture.

The recipients of Reverberate 2024 funding will share insights into their inspiring grassroots heritage projects while wide-ranging panel talks will include representatives from Assemblage Collective, Voices Project, The Ladder and Blackpool Community Darkroom, as well as English Heritage's Young Producers.

There'll also be the opportunity to sign up for a fun interactive workshop, or take some time out to visit the landmark nearby English Heritage site, .

By the end of the day, we hope attendees will walk away buzzing with creative ideas about bringing more young people into their organisations and have made some exciting new connections.

The day will conclude with an inspiring keynote speech by Community Consultant and Artist, Robin Sullivan.

This will be a full day of activity held at the Yorkshire Museum, which is well serviced by public transport and is fully accessible (please refer to the link below for more information). Lunch and refreshments will also be provided.

We're inviting all those across the creative, heritage and youth sectors to learn more about what we can achieve when we collaborate, and how we can work with young people to participate in, and shape, creative projects in heritage.

We hope that you can join us and please do share this invitation far and wide.
