About this Event

Come celebrate the history of Gaspee Days and the 250th Anniversary of the Pawtuxet Rangers!

Check-in at the Aspray Boathouse.

There will be displays at both the Boathouse and at the Pawtuxet Rangers Armory, including:

  • The RI State Archives display of various historic Pawtuxet Rangers items.
  • The Rhode Island State Mace carried in the Gaspee Days Parade.
  • The door from the Sabin Tavern where the patriots met to plan the burning of the Gaspee.
  • The Warwick Historical Society display of a gavel pertaining to the Sabin Tavern.
  • The historic slate from the Gaspee Building proclaiming the Burning of the Gaspee was the first bloodshed in the American Revolution.
  • A recently restored painting of the Burning of the Gaspee, the artist unknown, believed to be from the 1840s courtesy of the Varnum Continentals Museum.

Taste two commemorative beers in honor of the Pawtuxet Rangers' 250th Anniversary: Apponaug Brewing Company's "Artillery Ale" and Moniker Brewery's "Armory American Wheat Ale."
