About this Event
Our Mystery & History Scavenger hunts are fun ways to explore parts of San Diego, learn some history and socialize with other fun people. Join us as we follow the day in the life of "Gaslamp Gary" who was a regular at the bars and clubs in The Gaslamp District. Unfortunately Gary meets a mysterious end and it is up to you and your team mates to find out what happened!
How It Works:
- Meet us at the Hasta Manana Cantina at 4pm.
- We will randomly select teams if you don't have a team already. (98% of the people will be coming on their own)
- You will be given a sheet that has all the info of what Gary did that day. Where he went, what he saw, who he talked to, etc.
- You will follow those clues and find information in the things that are in the area, historic markers, signs, businesses and the people that are there.
- Each group will have 75 minutes to find as many clues as possible and return to the starting point to see if they can solve what happens to Gary!
- Following the hunt you can stay at the bar for food and drinks with your new friends.
Cost: $25 Includes the Scavenger Hunt and hosting fees only.
The Story
Gaslamp Gary is a transplant from Silicone Valley who has lived in the Gaslamp District for the last year. He was fired from his job at one of the Hi Tech companies for stealing. He has been blacklisted from every major tech company and is coming to the end of living off his all the money he made back in the day. He is a regular at the bars and pubs in the district and has a pretty bad reputation for being a jerk. One day Gary gets some bad news that the company that fired him has found new information about his actions that will likely put him in J*il for a long time. Gary decides that he is going to have one last big party day before they come to arrest him but at the end of the day he finds an even worse fate! It will be up to you and your team mates to find out what happened to Gary!
Can I Come Alone? Yes, 96% of those attending are likely to be coming on their own. We will be randomly be putting teams together (unless you already have a team)
Ages: 21+
Dress Code: Casual and comfortable. Dress for the weather.
