Ark of Highland Lakes, The Burnet County Sheriff's Office, Rotary Clubs of Marble Falls (Daybreak and Noon) and Burnet, His Joshua House, and Gary P. Nunn are proud to announce a Burnet County Flood Relief Concert and Fundraiser at Putters and Gutters in Marble Falls on Sunday evening, August 24, 2025.
Doors open at 4:00 p.m. The BBQ dinner will begin at 5 p.m. The event will feature Gary P. Nunn accompanied by Floyd Domino and members of the Sons of the Bunkhouse Band, The Outlaw Firm, Mike Blakely, John M. Greenberg, John Arthur Martinez, George Ensle, Janie Balderas, Wake Eastman, Amber Westerman, and Jesse Garcia. It will include live music, silent and live auctions, a raffle, a BBQ dinner, and more! All funds raised will directly support flood recovery efforts and survivors in Burnet County.
Flood Response
Ark of Highland Lakes launched its flood response Saturday, July 5, at the request of Emergency Management, opening immediate shelters for displaced residents in Marble Falls and Burnet. On Sunday, full disaster operations were underway—mobilizing volunteers for donation intake, food distribution, and support for survivors, first responders, and volunteers. Trained muck-out teams were deployed into the field beginning July 6th. Guided by a commitment to compassionate care, Ark combines physical recovery with emotional and spiritual support. Flood operations continue today based at the Marble Falls Warehouse and Ark Offices.
Much of the media attention focused on the flooding in Kerr County and other areas across Central Texas, so the Burnet County area has been overlooked. The Ark is working on more than 430 cases for long-term recovery and support. One of the severely impacted areas includes an RV park, where approximately 50 RVs were damaged, most completely destroyed. Many of these were long-term living situations. Many of the automobiles washed downstream. This will create a heavy financial impact on us as there is very little "renovation" that can be done to provide an adequate living situation. Many more cases occurred in areas of existing high poverty, which complicates the ability to rebound and rebuild from an event like this. We anticipate we will need more than $3 million to help our neighbors recover from this disaster.
