You're invited to join the Stanbery Park Conservation Team as we work to eradicate invasive plant species from our lovely park.This month are are working on Garlic Mustard!
Like many invasive plants, garlic mustard was introduced here from from other countries to help with erosion control. It's not really garlic like we know garlic- you won't want to put this in your pasta dish (although the young plants are edible). Rather garlic mustard gives off a scent of garlic when its leaves are crushed.
The key to eliminating this species is to get it before it goes to seed, which is why are will work on this in April. We hope you will join us in this endeavor. Volunteers will need to register in advance, here: https://bttr.im/yu9md
