Do you have what it takes to be an ecological champion?Garlic Mustard is a state-listed noxious W**d known to outcompete native vegetation (reducing wildlife forage), degrade soil quality, harm native pollinators, and diminish forests’ resiliency to drought, disease, and wildfire. Garlic mustard has crept into Summit County and is expanding through our trails, public and private lands, and open space. Help our community beat this W**d by entering the 5th annual Garlic Mustard Games!
Join the action!
The Garlic Mustard Games is a summer-long garlic mustard pull competition. Form a team of one or more and join us for W**d pull events throughout the summer! Each event consists of a brief W**d identification training led by Ecology Bridge staff, a few hours of work, plus weighing and tallying each team’s garlic mustard haul. Enjoy opportunity drawings at every event AND compete for the grand prize. Teams that pull the most garlic mustard (lbs of garlic mustard per teammate) by the end of the summer win a food truck party!
Event Details:
We are partnering with Temple Har Shalom for this event! All W**d pull materials, plus water and snack items will be provided. Wear close-toed shoes and bring gloves if you have them. This event is open to the public; no RSVP necessary!
