This one hour class covers the basics:-Climate Zone and Planting: When is the best time to plant?
-Rainfall and Watering: What is our climate zone and what does it mean?
-Soil and Amendments: How to create a healthy planting medium.
-Right Plant, Right Place: What plants are drought-tolerant, native to the Northwest, attract pollinators, and easy to grow.
-Pests and Weeds: How to handle deer, slugs, fungus and other common issues.
Taught by Jenni McCain, CPH, this class welcomes those new to gardening as well as garden enthusiasts. Class Fee $10. We ask that you preregister so that we can set the classroom accordingly. The greenhouse classroom is not heated, so please dress for the weather. Participants will receive 20% off selected plant purchases, valid only on the day of class.
