Gardening for Honey Bees and Native Pollinators

Saturday, July 24, 2024

1:30 p.m.-3:00 p.m.

Instructor: Chris Stalder

If you feed them they will keep coming! Learn about plants that are larval food sources for some of our larger colorful native butterflies, and plants to grow to keep them around drinking nectar when they are adults. Discover how to make your own native bee nests and how to garden for Honey Bees. And explore how you can landscape to attract hummingbirds to visit your garden as they migrate through Central Florida.

Christopher Stalder is a graduate of the University of Florida and has worked with the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture. He is also an environmental scientist, a butterfly gardener, a backyard beekeeper and a member of the Florida State Beekeepers Association. He offers natural history programs around the state on many subjects including herpetology, butterfly gardening and beekeeping.

Participants must withdraw from classes at least five days prior to the start of class in order to receive a full refund or credit. If we must cancel a class, we will make every effort to inform you prior to the class time, and you will receive a full refund or credit.

Only those registered for the class will be permitted in the classroom. Childcare services are not provided.
