About this Event

ECO City farms and The Town of Edmonston are hosting a Garden Workshop Series taught by Linda Jones, famer and owner of Elements of Nature - Botanicals and Farmaceuticals in Clinton, MD. Linda is a certified master gardener and focuses on growing flowers and herbs intertwined with gardening education. She is an avid seed collector and has a collection of over 500 varieties of open-pollinated and heirloom, annual, perennial and herb seeds.

This series welcomes growers just starting out and looking for guidance and inspiration for jumpstarting their garden this season. Part 1 of this series will focus on the need-to-know basics and appropriate for those at beginner and intermediate skill level and best suited for an adult audience.

  • Part 2 - Cucumbers Love Sunflowers: Understanding Companion and Succession Planting for Healthy Robust Harvests (April)
  • Part 3 - Listen to Your Body and Work With Mother Nature Through Beneficial Wellness Practices in the Garden: A deep dive into how to incorporate healthy and beneficial habits into your gardening journey and avoid unnecessary aches and pains (May)
  • Part 4 - Thank Your Mother: The Joy of Post Harvest and all the Wonderful Things Mother Nature Gives Back to Us Through Gracious and Delicious Meals, Food Preservation, Value-Added Products and Seeds (June)

Venue and Parking:

This series will be hosted at ECO City Farms' Edmonston Farm. In case of inclement weather or unanticipated conflicts, the secondary location with be the Town of Edmonston's Recreation Center (5100 Tanglewood Dr, Hyattsville, MD 20781).

The farm is located at the end of Crittenden Street and there are only a couple of spaces available directly in front of the farm. Vehicles can also park along the curb in front of the playground, please park in a manner that does not block other vehicles. There is also street parking around the Edmonston neighborhood. Do not worry about the "Permit Parking Only" signs, we have let the Town of Edmonston and the Police Dept know about the classes and they will not be ticketing. We will give you a pass to place in your windshield so officers know you are allowed to park on the residential streets. More details on how to find us and where to park on our website.
