Come learn the best way to care for your trees through pruning. While the tree is still young it can be set up for success as it develops into a grand focal point of the landscape. Older trees require very little pruning if they were cared for appropriately when young. Live demonstration on how to make cuts and the tools to use. You will learn the nuts and bolts of what to look for and how to make your trees look their best!
About the Speaker:
Neil Schmidt has been in the horticultural and botanical fields for over 20 years from Texas to Wisconsin. He is currently a Horticulturist in the Longenecker Horticultural Gardens at the UW-Madison Arboretum where he helps care for the largest woody plant collection in the state.
The Longenecker Horticultural Gardens hosts the third-largest public collection of lilacs in the United States along with renowned collections of flowering crabapples magnolias conifers and flowering shrubs.
