Enjoy a festive garden reception featuring ascrumptiousEarly American "Founding Fathers-inspired" menu that would meet the approval of Dolley Madison herself. Also enjoy Dolley's favorite desserts and libations made from original recipes popular in that era.Owner/historian Sandra Heiler welcomes us to her home for a personal tour of the Madison House. Learn the intriguing story as it happened in 1814 when the British burned down the White House along with much of Washington, when President James Madison fled seeking shelter here. This late 18th century estate boasts period pieces, a harpsichord and a fascinatinghistory,asBrookeville served as the US Capital for a Day duringthe War of 1812.The Madison House is located at 205 Market Street in Historic Brookeville, Maryland.
