Qigong is an ancient energy cultivation practice that literally translates into “energy work”. In Qigong, we utilize the power of our breath, postures, movement, and meditation to clear, align, circulate, and strengthen our Qi. Qi means vital life-force energy. There are so many health benefits of practicing Qigong. Not just on a physical level, but also emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. According to the Taoist philosophy, all dis-ease originates from blocked or stagnant energy flow. Therefore, it is believed that every condition can be improved with better energy flow, thus the practice of Qigong. The question then becomes, "Why not practice Qigong?"

About the venue
Temperance Alley is a pop-up garden, an outdoor classroom, and a time machine in the alley behind 1931 13th Street NW — built and stewarded by the U Street Neighborhood Association. Every week we host events and workshops in this parking lot turned green space, where neighbors can share their curiosities and grow, together.
