About this Event
Event Photos

The private owner of a world-class contemporary art collection desired a home that reflected not only their personal appreciation of art, but also a deep commitment to the role it plays in their lives. The landscape architects at the firm dwg. believe that art is integral to the human experience, which helped the team bring intimate spaces together into one harmonious design. Their role as the lead designers for the second phase of this project involved transforming this private garden into a world-class museum, with the potential to open as a public garden in the future.

Extensive studies were done in order to minimize regulatory changes, if and when this private garden opens its doors to the public. To create a more resilient design the team undertook environmental and ecological assessments of the existing landscape to define a phased approach to transforming the property. Careful emphasis was placed around assessing and quantifying the riparian, lowland, upland and bluff landscapes and selecting new native, drought resistant, species to provide more productive and diverse habitats.

NOTE: This Dialogue includes a breakfast on-site at the garden and concludes with a lunch at The County Line at the Lake.
