
The 7th annual Garden City Comedy Festival Gala Night returns with an incredible lineup of world class talent ready to bring the laughs to downtown St. Catharines. Headlining this years Gala Night is the hilarious Elvira Kurt.
Elvira Kurt Canadian national treasure in the Dept. of Comedy is a trail-blazing queer icon who's hosted her own talk show has starred in an acclaimed Comedy Central half-hour special has earned multiple nominations as College Comedian Of The Year and has countless other TV credits as a comic actress host and writer.
This laugh packed evening will also feature a hilarious lineup of some of the country's top performers.
Ian Sirota: Ian Sirota has opened for Jerry Seinfeld Jim Gaffigan Dennis Miller Robin Williams and Dana Carvey and headlines comedy clubs across North America. Ian has been nominated for not one but two Gemini Awards including "Best Comedy Performance".
Cedric Newman: As seen on The Traitors Canada and The Amazing Race Canada Cedric is a long serving professional who's graced stages across Canada and throughout Europe. He's had the pleasure of working with some of the industries big names such as Russel Peters Shaun Majumder and Gerry Dee.
Keesha Brownie: Keesha Brownie is a Toronto-based comic and multi-disciplinary artist with a global reputation. With her fierce work ethic and memorable stage presence Brownie earned a Canadian Comedy Award nomination for Best Female Stand-Up in 2015 and has appeared at Just for Laughs and the Winnipeg Comedy Festival.
Jimmy England: Jimmy England's an in-demand stand-up comedian who happily skewers a world that isn't so sure what to make of people like him. He's an award-winning performer runs writing and performance workshops advocates for stand-up comedy and hosts the movie and cultural Back to the Balcony - about to enter its tenth year.
The evening will be emceed by Niagara's homegrown comedy superstar Joe Pillitteri.
Funnyman Joe Pillitteri was born and raised in beautiful Niagara-on-the-Lake Ontario. He is an emcee stand-up comedian inspirational speaker and motivational leader. Having raised over $900000 for the Terry Fox Foundation through sold out comedy fundraisers Joe has received numerous awards including Citizen of the Year for his outstanding contributions to the community.
