Rules:
*This is not the full and extensive list of rules.*
Be respectful of others. This means their cards, too. We need our player base to create a safe and enjoyable environment, and to be able to hold themselves and others accountable.
No proxies.
- Players are allowed to proxy up to five (5) cards in their deck if they own the card. This is for card protection purposes, only. This does not pertain to MDFC tokens, etc.
- Allotted proxies must be legible, appropriate, and contain all info necessary for gameplay.
Decklists are required and will be checked starting at 5:30. Lists on Moxfield, Archidekt, etc. are encouraged and preferred. Handwritten lists must be legible.
Players are not allowed to switch or edit decks unless asked to do so by TO.
Players are responsible for tracking their own points during gameplay. TO will verify points with all players at the end of the round(s).
Four (4) player pods (or closest to…)
A randomizer will determine pods AND seating.
Concessions are only allowed at sorcery speed.
In the event of a round going to time, the number of turns will be determined by the number of remaining players.
- 3 or more: additional turns equal to the number of players
- 2 players: 3 additional turns
Earning points:
1 point for attendance each round.
1 point per player elimination.
- Eliminating any number of opponents with the same source within the same turn cycle will only net 1 point
2 points per game win.
1 point to pod winner in the event of a concession (for each player that conceded). In the event of a draw, no (0) concession points will be added.
1 point to each remaining player in the event of a draw.
ACHIEVEMENTS – weekly achievements will be posted and points will be determined based on difficulty (not to exceed 3 points per round).
BONUS POINTS – at TO’s discretion! Do you have panache? Does your deck have style? Show us in game!
LOSING points:
Unsportsmanlike conduct – penalty dependent on level of offense – will take away from season total
- Up to and including disqualification in future events
Not playing your commander: -1 point if your commander was not played at least once (if you’re playing with partners, both commanders must be played at least once)
Extra turns: -1 point for each additional turn beyond the SECOND – will take away from season total
Extra combat steps: -1 point for each additional combat step beyond the SECOND – will take away from season total
Infinite and functionally infinite combos: -1 point for each activation beyond the EIGHTH in a single turn cycle – will take away from season total
- If the loop is not reasonably able to be interrupted: -2 points per activation instead
- If the loop does not eliminate all opponents, you will lose the game as a state-based action and lose 5 points on the season
Players can go below zero (0) points for the season!
Players cannot directly cause another player to lose points for any reason. (Except by winning and their opponent(s) had not cast their commander)
BOUNTIES – eliminating winning players from the week before will have a bounty of additional prizing at TO’s discretion. This does not necessarily mean to eliminate them first – nobody likes being the archenemy…
Banned Cards:
WotC official Commander Banned Cards list (multiplayer format)
Cards that say, “You win the game” or “your opponent(s) lose(s) the game.” (Looking at you, Thassa’s Oracle)
Mass/repeated land destruction/removal (any card that causes opponents to return to hand, destroy, exile, shuffle into library, etc. more than 1 land can/will count)
