About this Event
On April 20, the Carolina Rugby Foundation will host the organization’s inaugural Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Members of this first class will be Matt Godek, the late Dr. Jim Wynn, and Sandy Frazier. Frazier founded the club in 1967, and all these men laid the groundwork in developing some dominant 1970s Gamecock rugby teams.
At this ceremony, the Foundation will recognize and honor members of the 1973 Gamecock team that took part in the Bulwark games. The two contests (won by USC) pitted the club against a squad composed of British Royal Navy Seamen who were stationed on the HMS Bulwark then docked in Charleston, S.C.
The men’s rugby program will also present 2023-24 club awards and honor graduating seniors.
