Sherry Plank, Boot Lake Nature Preserve Manager, will present a Gallery Talk called "Boot Lake Nature Preserve," on Tuesday, February 4th at 11 am at Ruthmere. Boot Lake Nature Preserve’s sprawling 300 acres encompass wetland, forest, and prairie habitat. A portion of the site has a unique story, having been reclaimed from the City of Elkhart’s sludge farm. The transformed site is now a state-dedicated nature preserve protecting Indiana’s rare and endangered wetland plants and animals. REGISTER HERE: https://ruthmere.org/event-6025616
Gallery Talks feature a twenty-minute discussion on an object/artwork within the Ruthmere collection, a person or event in local history, or a topic from the Victorian/Edwardian eras. Can't attend? All of Ruthmere's Gallery Talks are recorded and uploaded onto our YouTube page (youtube.com/ruthmeremuseum) within a few weeks after the event. Visit Ruthmere.org/Gallery-Talks to learn more.
Our Gallery Talks are free and open to the public thanks to our sponsors. If you would like to sponsor a 2025 Gallery Talk, please reach out to Bill Firstenberger at [email protected] or (574) 264-0330.
