Join jewellery expert Susan Rumfitt for a fascinating talk about the jewellery of Van Cleef & Arpels, which brought extra glamour to the fashion of the early C20th. Attracting a wealthy and stylish clientèle was the key to Van Cleef & Arpels’s success when they opened their shop in Place Vendôme, Paris. This first talk on Van Cleef & Arpels reflects on their formative years when they were established in 1906 to the end of the Art Deco Period. We will consider the influence of India and the Orient on their designs and the significance of the Tomb of Tutankhamun.
This is the first of three talks about Van Cleef & Arpels, which is being held on 18th, 19th and 20th September commencing at 11am. The second talk will take place in October. You can find out more here https://www.susanrumfitt.com/jewellery-talks/
