Peejay’s fight to breathe again!
Peejay is a 13 year old boy who is battling a rare lung condition (Idiopathic Pulmonary Hypertension). Diagnosed at the very young age of 2, Peejay was given a grim life expectancy of only 10 years.
Idiopathic Pulmonary Hypertension is a type of high blood pressure that affects the arteries in the lungs and the right side of the heart. The damage slows blood flow through the lungs resulting in the heart working harder to pump blood through to the lungs. The extra effort eventually causes the heart muscle to become weak and fail.
Peejay now faces his biggest fight… A double lung transplant. This major operation must take place at 'The Alfred Hospital' in Melbourne, which means the whole family will need to relocate during the operation with recovery time (approx 3-6 months) resulting in loss of income and extra travel expenses.
Come along to a fun filled night to help raise funds that will assist and hopefully ease the financial burden on Peejay's family, allowing them to focus solely on his recovery.
