About this Event
Join Gagosian for a live performance by Marco Blaauw of the musical accompaniment to Gerhard Richter’s Moving Picture (946-3) Kyoto Version (2019–24) inside an exhibition of the immersive film and sound installation at the gallery in Rome. In Richter’s thirty-six-minute work, which was made in collaboration with Corinna Belz, the artist explores the intersection of photography, chance occurrence, and systematic process in an analytical apotheosis of his Strip project. Rebecca Saunders’s music, written for double bell trumpet solo and incorporating acoustically manipulated sound, was created in collaboration with Blaauw and sound designer Sebastian Schottke. Blaauw will play alongside the film, with each performance precisely replacing its recorded soundtrack. The event is free to attend; advance registration is encouraged.
