Pre-Concert Lecture - 6:30 pm - Dr. Samuel Brannon
Long associated with the Sistine Chapel, Palestrina’s actual time as a singer in the Pope’s choir was brief. He spent many more years associated with the choir of St. Peter’s Basilica, the Cappella Giulia. This concert will feature music composed in later years of his life between 1571 and his death in 1594. The concert will highlight his often overlooked compositions for two choirs and features the eight-voice Missa Confitebor tibi Domine, along with motets and offertories.
We want everyone to be able to enjoy our concerts, and we understand that not everyone may be able to afford the published ticket prices. If you would like a ticket to one of our concerts, don't hesitate to contact [email protected], and we will arrange for a pay-as-you-will or free ticket.
