G-317 Basic CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) Training

East Lake CERT is happy to announce an update to our 2026 training program.
Join us for a hands-on training session to learn basic CERT skills! This event is perfect for those interested in disaster response and preparedness. The next G-317 CERT Basic Training course will be taken/given in two parts.
· Self-study online can be done at your own pace and started as early as you like, as long as you have completed it by the beginning of the “Live” Part 2 weekend.
· To sign-up for the online course, click on the link above, this will bring you to the University of Utah website. Register for this free course and then start the course on your own schedule. The course does not have to be completed in one session.
Will be conducted in person on January 17th & 18th 2026 at 8:00AM-5:00 PM.
· Practice and demonstrate the 70 skills and comprehension activities learned in part 1.
· Test & Disaster Simulation
Warning! (You cannot attend part 2 until you have completed Part 1 online and submitted your certificates of completion to the training team on the prior attending Part 2. Open spots for Part 2 will be announced to existing CERT members who wish to brush up on training for the year as suggested by FEMA.
