What is Future Makers Camp?
FutureMakers: Play, Growth, and Change- is a series of hands-on, project-based workshops over the Oct 21-22 term break, designed for middle- and high-school students to develop leadership, creativity, critical thinking and other crucial future skills. Curated and delivered by globally recognized experts from Thailand and Hong Kong with experience in the US, Nordics and Asia, the workshops will help your child gain international exposure and personal growth, and add to their competitive profiles for university application.

Course 1: Game Design for Personal Development
This 7-hour course provides an exploration of game design principles through play-based activities and collaborative projects, facilitated by two alumni from Finland with the background in learning design and game studies. Students will get to uncover personal and others' narratives, design a meaningful game to solve real-world problems.They will also get to apply these concepts in hands-on experiences while developing 21st century skills, and gaining insights into career opportunities within the gaming industry.

Instructors:
Kemchanin Pornpipatsakul (Jackie) and Pasuree Poovachiranon (Mailey), co-founders of Minä Ludens, bring extensive expertise in game design and learning. Jackie, with an MSSc in Game Studies from Finland, has over four years of experience creating board games, digital games, gamification projects, and more. He also teaches game-based learning focused on 21st-century skills at Satit Pattana and Plearnpattana Schools and is a lecturer at Silpakorn University International College. Mailey, holding a Master’s in Learning, Education, and Technology from Finland, has a background in IT and business consulting and specializes in learning design for diverse age groups. Together, they enhance learning experiences through playfulness and meaningful engagement.

Course 2: Public Narrative and Organizing for Change
This two-day course consists of two modules: Public Narrative and Organizing for Change. These modules are based on frameworks and concepts developed at Harvard University and will be taught by two Harvard alumni. Students will learn to reflect on their inner selves and discover their interests, motivations, and passions to create projects that could positively impact their community. By the end of the course, they will develop a capstone project and a global leadership profile for their Ivy League university application through the power of storytelling and actionable campaigning.

Instructors:
Pongpanott (Amp) Deekong, founder of Leeway, and Prima Pupornchai, a certified Public Narrative coach, both hold a Master’s in Education from Harvard Graduate School of Education, Class of 2023. Amp focuses on early childhood education in Thailand, offering professional development for educators and policymakers and advocating for family support. His experience includes roles at Ashoka and UNDP, where he contributed to policy innovation. Prima is certified by the Leading Change Network and Professor Marshall Ganz at Harvard Kennedy School. Both bring expertise in education, leadership, and campaign organization to their teaching roles.

Course 3: Young Entrepreneurs Bootcamp
Join the ranks of the galaxy's best young entrepreneurs!
Designed by and with award-winning entrepreneurs in Hong Kong, Singapore and the United States, the Young Entrepreneurs Bootcamp is designed for students to delve into the world of entrepreneurship, crafting their own business ideas and plans.
Students will use the card game Fiero! from Press Start Studios and actively incorporate design thinking principles to identify target users, design innovative solutions, create prototypes, and refine their elevator pitch for a final Dragon's Den.
Prepare for success in today's business landscape through the Young Entrepreneurs Bootcamp, a unique educational journey fostering creativity, critical thinking, and business acumen!

Course 4: Eon Expedition: A Creative Writing Adventure with ChatGPT
Transport yourself into the fascinating realm of time, choices, and AI with our ChatGPT assisted creative writing program, Eon Expedition!
Students will navigate complex plots, create compelling characters, and master the art of meaningful decision-making. This program will expose them to a choose-your-own-adventure style of storytelling.
Eon Expedition is a comprehensive skill-building experience that enhances critical thinking and creativity, nurtures linguistic proficiency, and introduces students to the exciting world of generative AI and its applications in storytelling.

Vince Siu, Founder and CEO of Press Start Academy, is an experienced game designer and educator with a background in digital consulting and innovation strategy. He is passionate about gamification, 21st-century skills, design thinking, and the future of education, including generative AI. Vince has spoken and conducted workshops for over 1,000 educators and school leaders globally and has been recognized by the Obama Foundation, the World Economic Forum, and Tatler Asia for his contributions to education.
