As the busiest month for fashion returns, we examine the most pressing challenges, practices and innovations that impact the industry today.
About this Event

As part of our Fashion Futures campaign running this Autumn, we will be examining the most pressing challenges, practices and innovations that are impacting the industry today and explore what the future could look like.

Hosted by celebrated writer and broadcaster Lucy Siegle, our curated conversation invites designers, commentators and fashion insiders to share their experiences of the industry, scrutinise new approaches to sustainability and dissect new technologies.

Future Talks: What’s Changed? Fashion Post-Pandemic.

9th November, 6pm - 7:30pm

The pandemic promised a reset, the chance to rethink the way fashion works. But in its aftermath, are we back to business as usual, or have we capitalised on the opportunity for change? Repairing and buying preloved fashion helps the environment, but can we embrace it? How can the business cycle adapt and what is the future of fabrics and digital innovation? This panel brings together the designers, creative champions and industry leaders who are finding new approaches and ways to create a better future.

The Panellists

Christopher Raeburn has established his eponymous brand with responsible and intelligent fashion design for a global audience. The RÆMADE ethos, in particular, has pioneered the reworking of surplus fabrics and garments to create distinctive and functional pieces.

Nina Marenzi is the Founder and Director of The Sustainable Angle, set up in 2010 to initiate and support projects aimed at reducing the environmental impact of the fashion industry. Nina identified the need for a curated sustainable textiles showcase, thus the Future Fabrics Expo was born and is now in its 10th year. She has previously worked as a consultant on various environmental policy initiatives.

Clara Mercer is the Communications Director for the British Fashion Council, tasked with positioning London as a global fashion capital known for creativity, innovation, and responsible business. She is a key figure in the planning and execution of events such as London Fashion Week and the Fashion Awards.

Emily Chan is the Senior Sustainability & Features Editor at British Vogue. In her role, she covers everything from eco-minded designers to innovations and industry-wide issues, as well as reporting on the climate crisis more generally.

As part of our Fashion Future campaign, Future Talks will take place in October and November in Fenwick of Bond Street and are designed in partnership with 5x15. Tickets are priced at £10 per person, redeemable against purchases made on the night. With only 40 spaces per talk, book your seat now.
