Join us at the Future Innovators Hackathon, an empowering one-day event where young leaders, creators, and changemakers come together to develop impactful, inclusive solutions for a sustainable future! Hosted by the Bioloop Foundation, this hackathon focuses on addressing real-world challenges within Metro Vancouver’s Solid Waste Management Plan Update through teamwork, mentorship, and cutting-edge workshops.
Event Highlights
- Collaborative Teams: Work in groups of four to brainstorm and prototype solutions that drive sustainability, equity, and resilience in our communities.
- Workshops & Mentorship: Gain insights from industry experts and thought leaders in workshops dedicated to sustainability, community resilience, and environmental innovation.
- Impactful Challenges: Address key issues linked to three UN Sustainable Development Goals: Affordable and Clean Energy, Sustainable Cities and Communities, and Responsible Production and Consumption. All while exploring ideas that contribute to gender equality, circular economy, and Indigenous reconciliation.
- Recognition: Present your solutions to a panel of judges for a chance to win recognition and make your mark in sustainability!
This hackathon is open to youth aged 15-30 who self-identify as Black, Indigenous, People of Colour, 2SLGBTQIA+, or individuals with long-term, intermittent, or recurring disabilities. It’s a unique opportunity to collaborate, learn, and contribute to meaningful climate action.
