Ben Atkin bio:
As a founding member of Connecticut-based rock quintet Goose, Ben Atkind has remained steadfast in the pursuit of his dream to be a professional musician. Years of relentless touring, practice, and dedication have resulted in a meteoric rise to national acclaim, as the band continues to soldier ahead, backed by an exponentially-growing grassroots following.
Bens playing can be described as an effortless amalgamation of jazzs complexities, funks feel, and a versatility ranging from hip/hop to fusion. His passion for performance is fueled by a ceaseless commitment to learning.
Born in Boston, the Needham High School graduate studied privately with Dave Dicenso, among many other renowned teachers, while attending Berklee College of Music to study Drum Performance. His motivation to play comes from a burning desire to satiate his ever-present need for potatoes – affectionately earning him the name œSpuds� among his fan base. Feel free to reach out for recipes.
Cloudchord bio:
Cloudchord (Derek VanScoten) is a producer, guitarist, and genre bending specialist. His refreshing takes on atmospheric dance music have solidified his place in the world of psychedelic chill hop beats. VanScoten was inspired by pivotal live experiences leading him into jazz and classical guitar studies, while digging through the fertile left-of-center instrumental hip-hop. Born out of this aesthetic convergence, Cloudchord has established himself in the burgeoning lo-fi chillhop scene with his own blissfully hypnotic sonic alchemy. He’s since racked up 100 million + streams and won an Emmy for scoring on the documentary In Football We Trust, all while building his reputation with engaging live performances and an overflowing catalog of tunes. With Bloom Bap , Derek has put forth his greatest and most impossibly lush collection of tunes to date. We see him crystallizing his characteristic style with rolling grooves and dense thickets of melody, cementing Cloudchord as an exciting voice in the soundful electronic landscape. Featuring collaborations with Emancipator, Big Gigantic, Braxton Cook, ProbCause, Adam Deitch of Lettuce, and more, Bloom Bap projects tranquility but never quite sits still, always excitedly shifting its own structure as these 15 songs wind down fascinating paths—and you, the listener, are always along for the ride.
Horizon Wireless:
Horizon Wireless is a duo from NYC ft. Harrison Waxenberg (DJ/Producer) and Daniel Scott Lyons (Drummer/Producer) that blends psychedelic break-beat music with a variety of other styles including trip-hop, minimal tech house, and electro/trance to create high energy dance sets. For the past 9 years they have been using elements from all across the spectrum to create storm-like live sets .
Between winning the Grassroots California Mixtape Competition; directly supporting acts like The Crystal Method, Hallucinogen, Big Gigantic, The Disco Biscuits, Parov Stelar, BoomBox, The New Deal; and rabidly building a dedicated following all around the Northeast, these guys have become an inseparable and integral part of the jam/electronic scene.
2019 saw the release of Reimaginate, a 15 track jamband remix album which was met with feverish reviews,. In 2019 Horizon Wireless released their debut original album Welcome to the Network, and in 2020 they released the Our Nation is Imagination EP. 2023 will see the release of their third orginal record.
With a decade spanning career consisting of original music, hundreds of live shows, remixes, livestrams, and more, Horizon Wireless is one act that should not be missed.
