Never before have there been so many visibly diverse people in the Norwegian Parliament. 11 out of 169 members of Parliament today are from minority backgrounds.This is the most diverse the Norwegian Parliament has been with regard to minority representation, and as such, is cause to celebrate. Nonetheless, is there room for more representation and inclusion?
This diversity, in age, gender, and ethnic background in the Parliament will most definitely have a positive impact on society and set a new tone for the public conversation in Norway. But what more can we do to include diverse and representative voices in law-making?
On June 1st, we will discuss the impact of a more diverse Parliament on the future of Norway in a morning seminar with 4 members of the Norwegian Parliament. There will be breakfast and networking opportunities. Don’t miss it!
