What is Fusion Dancing?
Fusion dancing is a partner dance style that blends elements from multiple dance genres, often focusing on musicality, creativity, and connection rather than strict rules or predefined steps. It emerged from social dance communities and is typically danced to a wide range of music, from blues, swing, jazz to electronic and contemporary tracks.
Unlike traditional partner dances with fixed techniques (such as salsa or tango), fusion dancing allows dancers to adapt their movements based on the music and their partner’s style, making it highly improvisational and expressive. Fusion can, but is not limited, to drawing influence from Blues, West Coast Swing, Slow Bal, Contact Improv, Zouk, Tango and more.
Running Plan:
2:00pm - Studio open
2:10pm - 2:30pm Guided body warm up and partner connection exercise.
2:30pm - 3:45pm - DJ Set 1
3:45pm - 5:00pm - DJ set 2
