Join fused glass artist Stevie Davies for a relaxed and colourful creative session at The Sock Gallery, Loughborough.This workshop is a brilliant introduction to glass as Stevie will guide you through simple techniques and helpful tips, making it easy and enjoyable for complete beginners. If you do have some experience with the fabulous material, you can develop your design ideas using colour layering and adding texture.
You’ll be given the option of making a beautiful hanging or a pair of coasters. Working on a pre-cut clear glass base approx. 30x5cm or two 10x10cm bases. You’ll be to design and create with vibrant stripes of glass in your favourite colours. Using a variety of transparent or opaque glass strips, you’ll cut, arrange and layer your design by adding optional details to make it truly your own.
There is an extra special sparkling glass called dichroic, which if you choose to use, will incur an extra cost of a few pounds, based on how much you like overly the top sparkly goodness! Paid directly to the tutor.
Once you’ve completed your piece, simply leave it with Stevie to be kiln-fired, cleaned and finished with a ribbon or little rubber bumpers, ready to enjoy in your own home.
Your finished artworks will be returned to The Sock Gallery to collect approx. 3weeks later.
