Fundraising Dinner for Food For Life Vrindavan
Join us for a special fundraising dinner in support of Food For Life Vrindavan, an organization dedicated to uplifting the lives of underprivileged children and families in rural India through education, nutrition, and environmental care. Enjoy a delicious, nourishing meal in the company of our yoga community, and be part of a cause that brings real, lasting change. We'll present a slideshow and you'll learn about Shyam, Anajli and Muskan, the students we have sponsored for several years. Your presence and support can help provide meals, schooling, medical care and more. Let’s come together and make a meaningful impact—one plate at a time.

Shima Hojjati - Hi, I’m Shima—a Chef Instructor at Sur La Table and Personal Chef in Saratoga. Cooking has been a part of me for as long as I can remember. What began as years of experimenting in my own kitchen has grown into my profession and greatest joy. I love creating healthy, vibrant meals, often inspired by Mediterranean flavors, fresh produce, and the idea of letting the earth nourish us. I also enjoy weaving in superfoods to keep both body and spirit energized. With a background in painting, I see every plate as a canvas—where colors, textures, and flavors come alive. Outside the kitchen, I practice yoga, run, swim, play tennis, and horseback ride. And yes—I’ll always have a soft spot for fresh pasta, sourdough pizza, breads, and homemade ice creams and pies. I also love meeting people and being part of meaningful gatherings. It’s such a joy to join this fundraising event at Yoga Mandali, because it’s a truly beautiful and welcoming community. For me, cooking is about more than food—it’s about connection, creativity, and sharing something that truly comes from the heart.
