This summer, BreAnna's program is hosting a study abroad trip to Dublin, Ireland focused on child life. Child Life Specialists are a part of the psychosocial team on each of the units within a hospital. Children's lives involve providing distraction during procedures, educating pediatric patients and families on various diagnoses, supporting families through bereavements, and promoting normalization in the hospital through play. During this trip, she will be volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House, assisting with a medical specialty camp, and helping at a pediatric children's hospital. Attending this trip will allow her the opportunity to broaden her cultural perspective and be a better healthcare professional.
