We invite you to join an action-oriented national convening focused on informing and mobilizing funders concerned about birth equity.
About this Event

Maternal mortality rates in the United States are among the worst in the developed world, with rates particularly high among Black and Indigenous people, regardless of income or education. There is a pressing need for funders to align their investments to help improve health outcomes for parents and infants in the United States. Now is the time for philanthropic organizations to connect, collaborate, and co-create radical ideas and programs to ensure full birth equity, especially among communities experiencing the worst birth outcomes.

The Birth Equity Funders’ Summit will take place October 25-27, 2022 in Atlanta, Georgia, following the Mom and Baby Action Network (M-BAN) Summit on October 24 and 25.

Support for this meeting is provided by bi3, Community Health Acceleration Partnership, Grantmakers In Health, Funders for Birth Justice and Equity (formerly Midwifery Funders Group), Ms. Foundation for Women, Pritzker Children’s Initiative, and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, in partnership with the Mom and Baby Action Network.

Registration Eligibility

The Birth Equity Funders’ Summit welcomes all funders that are curious about, exploring, or committed to the birth equity cause. Participation is not limited to GIH Funding Partners, but participation is limited to funders, including individual donors and philanthropic organizations investing at any level and working on the full range of issues linked to maternal and infant mortality, such as families and early childhood; food and nutrition; mental health and substance use; paid family leave and other economic supports; and other social determinants of health like housing, transportation, and educational attainment.

All registrations are reviewed to ensure they meet our eligibility policy. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel ineligible registrations at any time and shall not be held accountable for any outside fees associated with this cancellation.

COVID Protocols

The organizers of the Birth Equity Funders’ Summit are committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for in-person Summit participants. We will review local COVID-19 data and policies, to ensure we update and communicate meeting safety protocols as we get closer to the event date.*

As we get closer we are monitoring the situation and plan to engage a COVID event protocol if needed that may include pre-upload of vaccination proof.

The combined power of philanthropic investments, federal dollars, and community leadership can change the course of the maternal and infant health crisis. We hope you will join us in Atlanta in October.
