Old Wood Organic have partnered with the Woodland Trust to offer funded eco-therapeutic forest bathing sessions. These sessions are designed to be accessible and achievable, ensuring that everyone can participate fully.During the session, you will discover how to harness the health benefits of spending time in nature, learn about the natural world, and explore the five “ways to wellbeing” as outlined by the NHS: connect, be active, take notice, learn, and give. These inclusive sessions combine individual and group experiences for a gentle supportive atmosphere.
Enjoy gentle walks among beautiful trees and be guided through a series of sensory exercises aimed at deepening their connection with nature, calming both body and mind.
Many participants have reported significant benefits for both physical and mental wellbeing, including lower stress hormone levels, increased happiness, enhanced creativity, reduced heart rate and blood pressure, improved immune function, and quicker recovery from illnesses. This programme acts as a refuge for various mental and physical health needs, providing support for those coping with heartbreak, job loss, accidents, bereavement, or overwhelming life pressures.
* There is no vehicular access to the Woodland.
To join these sessions you can reach the farm by circular cycle track within the wood links to the SUSTRANS National Cycle Network, Route 64, making this a great destination for cyclists.
