Day 2 - February 22nd
The second day will be less structured, and more about using the principles and knowledge gained on day one. We will do a site walk, where we take a walk around 1 or 2 properties, (TBD), and talk about the land, using what's currently growing on it to learn more about the land and soil, and ideas of how you could make it into a thriving forest of food.
The second part of the day will be a practical - where we sit down with paper and utensils, and draw a to-scale map of the property you have that you plan on putting a food forest on. Or if you don't own land, you can choose any property you like, and make a map, check topography, and design a food forest on the map. The teachers will be there to guide you with answering questions and offering ideas. This will be more of a fun collaboration, where you use the knowledge you've gained and put it to practical use and create an actionable design!
