Yoga is more than "just stretching"!The thing that traditional classes tend to forget is that not every body is the same, and not everybody needs the same cues.
Functional mobility yoga is for people who are ready to change habits in their daily lives by incorporating daily strengthening stretches to bring their body back into a healthier postural alignment.
The "problematic area" changes each week, and starts over again after 5 weeks. This is an interactive yoga class, so I won't be shouting yoga poses in Sanskrit while you struggle to follow along - instead we tackle how your body moves and make sure the correct muscles are being targeted for your needs. No shame or judgement, just geeking out on how to train the body to fix its alignment while we're on the mat, so you can move more freely off the mat.
The weekly rotation is as follows:
Week 1 - Feet and Ankles
Week 2 - Knees and Hamstrings
Week 3 - Hips and lower body chain movements / locomotion
Week 4 - Wrists and Shoulders
Week 5 - Neck and Spine
Drop in classes are $25 or you can buy a punch card for a discounted rate of $20/class.
