About this Event
Functional and Integrative Pediatrics offers a groundbreaking approach to health care, particularly for children dealing with chronic conditions or complex health issues. Pediatric functional and integrative medicine acknowledges that multiple underlying factors contribute to individual health, such as environmental, cellular, nutrition and lifestyle factors.
In this one-day conference you will get an understanding of the framework for functional and integrative pediatric medicine, while you expand your ability to test for nutrients and cofactors which may affect pediatric symptoms, learn to use supplements that follow FDA-regulations to safely support pediatric conditions and help your patients with whole foods nutrition as information for their cellular health.
OBJECTIVES
- FRAMEWORK: Explain how a functional medicine framework considers complex underlying body processes in heterogeneous individuals which contribute to medical symptoms.
- FOOD: Describe a whole foods diet and components in ultra-processed foods and how they provide information to body cells.
- SUPPLEMENTS: Interpret the therapeutic use of and safety profile/contraindications of supplements in pediatrics for common clinical issues.
- LABORATORY: Identify laboratory tests useful in pediatric functional and integrative approach.
- PATIENT EDUCATION: Apply patient education to deliver functional and integrative approaches.
