Due to the city of Ypsilanti raising the park rental fee by 4x as much as it has been for the last 3 years, we need some help raising funds for this year’s festival.Any funds we raise will be a HUGE help, making Fun Fest possible this year!Come join us at Ziggy’s for some cool tunes from:
Violet Sol is a collective out of Ann Arbor trying to bring back the light. With inspiration ranging from a hip hop, neo soul world to one of disco, jazz, and even opera; their originals come with a flavor that will inspire even the most discerning ears.
Al Bettis - Inspired at age 30, singer/songwriter Al Bettis picked up a guitar and a notepad and got to work. The self-trained acoustic guitarist has gained popularity for his smooth vocals and sincere lyrics. His shows are a journey through love, heartbreak and redemption as he offers stories about the musings behind many of his songs. Reminiscent of legends like Al Green and Otis Redding, with musical influence from artists such as Ed Sheeran and Jason Mraz his soothing voice and raw sound is something you surely want to experience.
Kenji Lee is a saxophonist, composer-improviser, and educator based in Southeastern Michigan.
Born in Tokyo, Japan, and raised in the seaside town of Laguna Beach, California, Lee began studying music at an early age and spent most of his childhood immersed in music. He spent a decade learning from the late-great bassist and educator Roger Shew. Lee attended the University of Michigan, where he studied privately with Andrew Bishop, Robert Hurst, and Miles Okazaki. Upon graduation, he spent time in both the Detroit & Seattle scenes performing with a wide array of musicians including:Wayne Horvitz, Robert Hurst, Marion Hayden, Dr. Prof. Leonard King, Kayvon Gordon, Andrew Bishop, Lex Korten, Jonathan Barahal Taylor, Andy Peck, and Estar Cohen. All of these folks are musicians of the highest order and he feels extremely fortunate to have had each one of them shape his journey through music.
