Dr. Krishna P. Ghimire, Undergraduate Program Director and Associate Teaching Professor at the Department of Civil Engineering, Kansas State University, will present on the college academic environment with focus on study skills and making maximum out of the college life.
Kansas State University (K-State) is a public land-grant research university with its main campus in Manhattan, Kansas. The university is classified among R1: Doctoral Universities – Very high research activity. Graduate degrees offered include 78 master's degree programs and 44 doctoral degrees with over 90 research centers. According to Princeton Review 2023, the university ranks first in the best quality of life, second in student love for the college, third in best town-gown relations, and fourth in health services and happiest students in the US. K-State has been nationally recognized eight years in a row with the Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award. The university has two regional campuses in Olathe and Salina, Kansas. The Olathe Innovation Campus focuses on graduate work in research bioenergy, animal health, plant science, and food safety and security. The Salina Aerospace and Technology Campus is home to the College of Technology and Aviation.
K-State offers various fellowships, scholarships, and grants for undergraduate and graduate students to provide financial support at the beginning of their program, during their program, and as they near graduation and prepare for their professional careers (https://www.k-state.edu/sfa/). These aids are generally in the form of GRA, GTA, GA, and other scholarship awards. Some funding opportunities are offered by the respective, colleges, Graduate Schools, and other units at K-State. External agencies and organizations offer other funding opportunities.
