On Saturday 13th September, our Built Heritage and Capital Projects Manager, Katherine McClean, will be leading a special guided tour delving into the important work that goes into looking after our buildings. Behind the scenes at the Ulster Folk Museum, a huge amount of work goes on to maintain and conserve our unique collections of buildings. The majority of the buildings in our collection were moved from their original location and rebuilt on site as early as the 1960s - some of the buildings date as far back as the mid 1700s!
Look at fascinating examples of heritage building techniques such as thatching and lime parging, see conservation work in action and get a behind the scenes look into buildings that the public don't normally get to access!
This is a free tour as part of European Heritage Open Days with limited spaces.
