Join us for an engaging workshop hosted by the Strathcona Community Food Hub on learning how to make sourdough, the bread that keeps on giving. In Sourdough Basics, chef Jill Lamberts of Shorewolf Farm will share her 110 year-old sourdough Mother 'Wilma' in a hands-on workshop on how to make sourdough bread from scratch. In this workshop, participants will learn the long-established techniques and stages of sourdough bread-baking and discover how to make their own starters. At the end of the evening, the group will sit down together to enjoy a delicious, plant-based soup alongside their fresh baked bread. Wait, there's more! Participants will get to take home some of Chef Jill's starter for their own future baking.
Please bring a take-away container to pack home any bread and one clean 250 mL jar with a lid.
