About this Event
IMPORTANT - All participants must attend all sessions in order to graduate the NERT program. No makeup sessions will be provided. If you sign up for the first class, you have signed up for all of them.
NERT is a free training program for individuals, neighborhood groups and community-based organizations in San Francisco. Through this program, individuals will learn the basics of personal preparedness and prevention. The training also includes hands-on disaster skills that will help individuals respond to a personal emergency as well as act as members of a neighborhood response team.
Full NERT Training Course Outline:
Class 1: Earthquake Awareness, Preparedness, and Hazard Mitigation
Class 2: Hazardous Materials/Terrorism Awareness, Utility Shut-off
Class 3: Disaster Medicine
Class 4: Light Search and Rescue
Class 5: Emergency Team Organization & Disaster Psychology
Class 6: Hands-On Skills Application, Course Review, and Graduation
**Breakfast and lunch will be provided each day.
**Upon graduating, you will receive a NERT hard hat, a NERT backpack and a NERT vest.
