About this Event
**MEETING LOCATION/INFO WILL BE EMAILED TWO DAYS BEFORE THE HIKE.
This is a special hike in partnership with the and the !
The hike is adapted for Los Angeles from a night program I used to teach kids in Yosemite National Park... Think of it like the sleep away summer camp program you wish you'd been able to do as a kid.
We'll explore our local environment as the landscape shifts from day to sunset to night, learning about the ways in which both flora and fauna shift along with it. Learning about bats, night blooming flowers, owls, toads, and other nocturnal creatures. We'll also explore the ways in which our own eyes adjust (or don't) to darkness with a couple of fun games.
We will also avoid using headlamps or any other light source as much as possible to let the nearly full moon show us the way
