Throughout time, the full moon has been said to heighten intuition, represent completion, and cause emotional intensity. In reverence of the luminous nature of the moon, on December 4th, we will practice moon salutations (modifications will be provided, beginner appropriate).
To honor our relationship with the moon we will share moon mythos from several different spiritual and cultural perspectives.
As tribute to the energy of December’s ‘Long Night Moon’ we will sip on Full Moon Water as we conduct a ‘letting go’ ceremony and envision the new beginnings promised by the fullness of her cycle.
By way of our voices, we will lift our hearts, minds, and intentions as we chant the Mahamrityunjaya, a traditional Shiva chant.
The full moon is said to amplify the protective and healing energies of this mantra, making it especially effective for healing, spiritual growth, and protection from fear, disease, and death.
Given the current burden of sorrow and hopelessness in the world, engaging in rituals like the ones planned for December 4th at Bhakti Spirit in Hagerstown Maryland, will empower us to courageously continue our journey onward toward peace, unity, wholeness, and self knowledge.
