🔥 6:15pm Shaman Fire Ceremony (Small Stick will be Provided)
[ Fire ceremony, one of the core rituals in many medicine traditions, is typically held around the full or new moon of each month, when the veils between the worlds are the thinnest. The offering serves to focus one’s attention on active meditation. Fire ceremony allows us to source from our soul and to re-remember how we have sat around sacred fires throughout time. Whenever you feel blocked or are working on what you want to dream into your life, fire is an incredible tool to help you change and shift.]

✨ 7:00pm Djembe Class w/ Salvatore Turner
Salvatore Turner aka Sal has played guitar since 2001, but after attending his first music festival called Rothbury in 2009, and seeing Jason Hann play percussion with String Cheese Incident, he knew that he wanted to be a percussionist too.
In 2010 he started going to Dr. Bobs drum circles at the golden gate cafe'. After seeing the Baba's play west African rhythms, he wanted to learn African drumming. He then linked up with one of the guys, and he gave me Baba Ayinde's number for lessons.
Since then he's enjoyed playing percussion in many bands and it's been a life changing experience.
The djembe originates from West Africa and is an integral part of many traditional African cultures. By learning to play the djembe, you can appreciate and connect with the rich heritage and history associated with this instrument.
Playing the djembe involves physical movement, making it a form of exercise. Drumming can help improve coordination, strengthen muscles, and enhance overall fitness. Additionally, studies have shown that drumming has therapeutic benefits, including stress reduction and anxiety relief.
When playing in a traditional Guinean-style orchestra (which includes the djembe), participants must listen to different repetitive musical patterns from multiple instruments simultaneously.
Over time, players develop improved listening skills and multitasking abilities. Initially, they focus on their own drumming pattern, but eventually, they can listen to other instruments while maintaining their own rhythm.
Learning to play the djembe in a group setting fosters collaboration, communication, and a sense of shared accomplishment.
