Participants will make a 10'' wide x 4'' deep (approximately) shallow willow frame basket. We will discuss some basics of willow basketry while acknowledging the accessibility of the craft, the materials, the history of the land we are gathered upon, and the current cultural environment we practice this craft within. Capacity: 10 people
Experience Level: All levels are welcome. No experience required. Average to moderate hand strength is needed for this class. It will likely not be a good fit for anyone with hand sensitivities including hand injuries or arthritis.

About the Instructor: Frea (FREE yuh; she/they) is committed to fostering an equitable approach to craft. Her teaching will thoughtfully explore how craft practices, education, and materials are connected to broader social issues such as historical and ongoing injustices, including land appropriation, indigenous displacement, and systemic inequality.
