Join Ranger Mike at Fort Selden Historic Site in Radium Springs, New Mexico to help harvest chiles and vegetables from the foodways garden on Sat., Aug. 30, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Participants will learn the process of roasting chiles, making their own delicious salsa, and canning the salsa. The garden includes New Mexico No. 9 chiles, Heritage Big Jim chiles, Heritage 62 chiles, and other varieties planted in the spring. Cooking outdoors is contingent on weather and fire restrictions.This program is included with admission at $5/adult and free for children 16 and younger.
